Pagosa Springs Youth Center will host a day of skating in conjunction with the AmeriCorps Day of Service and share with United Way the proceeds.
There is no school Monday, Jan. 16, and the Skate Day includes a pancake breakfast and lunch, door prizes and an opportunity for all to sign a beautifully painted mural of Martin Luther King Jr.
For this event, we encourage elementary-age students to come with a parent or they can be signed in for the day while the parent is at work.
A donation of $10 for the event will go toward youth programs in Archuleta County. Skates are provided, and this year members of Roller Girls in Pagosa will be there to help our kids skate.
United Way donates to many of our community’s youth programs and what better day and activity for our youth to participate in. Other youth programs and organizations that are partners with United Way include Big Brothers Big Sisters, Girl Scouts of Colorado, Archuleta Education Center and Seeds of Learning.
Community members can donate to the event by calling 946-7545 or stopping by Pagosa Springs Youth Center any time after school.
The Pagosa Springs Youth Center is for students ages 12-19 and is located next to Town Park, but we invite our younger youth to come and play the day with us at this special event.
