St. Patrick’s Christmas Tea, a holiday tradition

For many, it just isn’t Christmas without joining with special friends at St. Patrick’s annual Christmas Tea.

An elegant event at an amazingly low price of $5 per ticket, the Christmas Tea is a wonderful respite from the hectic pace of the holiday season. This year’s tea is this Sunday, Dec. 4, from 2-3:30 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, 225 S. Pagosa Blvd. Tickets must be purchased in advance in the church office.

Each year, the women of St. Patrick’s provide a huge assortment of sandwiches, deserts, tea, and other delights in a beautiful setting adorned with beautiful Christmas decorations. The tables are set with gorgeous china from the ladies’ personal family collections. In addition, a large assortment of homemade cookies are boxed to sell for only $10 per box, a perfect gift for those special people in your life who have gifted you with their friendship and services throughout the year. This year, homemade tree ornaments will also be offered for sale.

The proceeds from the tea provide funding for the annual Shamrock Quilt and pillow shams, raffled each year at the Shamrock Festival, providing funding for numerous non-profit organizations in town. Additional proceeds go to help fund St. Patrick’s Quilt Ministry, a ministry that gives special prayer quilts to those in need of prayers in times of health or spiritual crisis.

Tickets for the Christmas Tea always sell out prior to the event, so don’t wait to purchase your tickets.
