One-act play auditions Nov. 30 at high school

It’s that time of year again, and the theater department at Pagosa Springs High School continues to hustle and bustle.

On the heels of “The Princess Bride” and after catching their breath for a couple of short weeks, potential performers are now preparing for one-act auditions and a festival.

Auditions are open to any high school-age student in Pagosa, and will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 30, from 4-6 p.m. in the high school band room.

There is a sign-up sheet on the band room door for auditionees.  We ask that you prepare a one- to two-minute monologue of your choosing. A cold read of the script, “Scratching the Surface,” by Dennis Bush, will also be a part of the audition process.

The Internet is a great place to search for creative and appropriate monologue selections.   The students in the department have placed tops over the years in competition for their one-act plays, and we hope and will work for this year to be no different.

Contact Charisse Morris at the high school or Dale Johnson at 731 3370 for further information.
