Eat, drink and be merry for the mammals

Don’t miss this year’s Art for the Animals, hosted by Wild Spirit Gallery.

Featuring paintings by local artist Paula Jo Miller, the event is a fund-raiser for Pagosa Animal Advocates (PAA).

“It’s going to be a great night,” said Madeline Lyon, owner of Wild Spirit Gallery. “We’re excited to show Paula’s paintings again this year. Last year, she sold the majority of her work and donated all proceeds to PAA. As a member of the PAA board, I personally saw how many local animals that donation helped.”

Perfect holiday kickoff

“I’m grateful to show my paintings at Wild Spirit,” said Miller. “It’s a beautiful setting in which to show any work. Building on last year’s success, this year we’re adding a variety of catered foods, holiday drinks, amazing desserts by Sugar High, and live music by the fabulous Bob Hemenger. And, while our guests enjoy these treats, they can also do their holiday shopping. We’ll have jewelry, weekend getaways and gorgeous apparel — all for the price of a drawing ticket.”

About PAA

All proceeds from Art in the Animals will go to PAA’s Second Chances Program.

This unique program rescues, fosters and finds homes for special needs and elderly pets that have been abused or abandoned due to owner death or illness.

Because PAA is an all-volunteer organization, nearly 100 percent of the donations received pay for animals’ medical care, feeding and sheltering.

If you cannot attend this event, please make a donation at www.pagosaanimaladvocates.org. Any amount you donate will help give these animals the second chance they deserve.

Watch PAA’s YouTube video at www.youtube.com. Type “Pagosa Animal Advocates” in the search box and then click on PAA Second Chance video.
