For many people in Pagosa Springs there is not a more delightful way to begin the festivities of the Christmas season than at St. Patrick’s annual Christmas Tea.
The tea is sponsored by the Episcopal Church Women to raise money for the Shamrock Quilt, raffled each year to help fund local non-profits.
This year’s quilt brought in $5,000 to support a number of organizations that will receive donation checks at the tea.
The tea will be held Sunday, Dec. 4, at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church beginning at 2 p.m. The tickets are only $5 and are now on sale in the church office.
Guests dress up in their Christmas finery to enjoy tea time with friends in the ambiance of St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, transformed into an elegant tea room. Tables are covered in white table cloths and decorated with festive Christmas centerpieces. Each table is complete with real china cups and saucers from the private collections of the church women. Delicious homemade deserts, sandwiches, cheeses, fruits and other scrumptious hors d’oeuvres lavish the serving tables.
Each year, the church women use their baking skills to fill boxes with an assortment of delectable Christmas cookies. These cookies cost only $10 per box and make a wonderful Christmas gift for your friends, neighbors or for those special people who serve you throughout the year. Also on sale this year will be lovely homemade tree ornaments for your own tree or to use as gifts.
There are only one hundred tickets available for this event, so buy early. Treat your special friends to an afternoon sure to bring special joy to the season.
St. Patrick’s is located at 225 S. Pagosa Blvd.
