Pagosa Springs resident Donna Sue Lister passed away at her apartment at Casa De Los Arcos on Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, in Pagosa Springs, Colo. She was 48.
Her family and faith were the most important things in her life. She kept in close contact through phone calls and letters. She relied on her faith and family to sustain her through difficult times. She often accompanied her mother to doctor appointments in Durango and was her mother’s sidekick on family trips to Utah and Arizona.
Even though she struggled with health issues, she was the first to offer her help in planning and organizing family activities. She could brighten up a room with her wit and her infectious laugh. She was well liked and would do anything to help her family and friends. She was an excellent cook and she was known for her smothered burritos and her cherry birthday cakes.
She is survived by her daughter, Tasha Andrews (Dominique); two sons, Santino and Gabriel Lister, of Pagosa Springs; her mother, Delfie Lister, of Pagosa Springs; four brothers, Larry (Cindy) Lister, Joe (Kate) Lister Jr. and Les Lister, of Pagosa Springs, and Mike Lister, of Bayfield, Colo.; two sisters, Peggy (Louie) Pisano, of Yuma, Ariz., and Pam Lister, of Pagosa Springs; two granddaughters, Diandra and Nadia Lucero, and 40 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Lister Sr., and two nephews, Ryan Lister and his son, Hunter Brule.
Donna touched many lives and will be greatly missed by family and friends. She demonstrated a great deal of compassion and was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren and their accomplishments. She was very unselfish and always put her children and grandchildren first.
