Pagosa high school students present ‘A Taste of the Classics’

Some of Pagosa High School’s finest vocal students will present a special vocal solo concert at the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts on Sunday, Nov. 6, at 5 p.m.

This concert will feature vocalists preparing to audition for the All State Choir and the Honor Choir. These students have been preparing for several months a variety of classical solo works in English, French, German, Italian and Latin, and these pieces will be presented at the spring honor festivals.

Some of these students are no strangers to solo performance, having auditioned for honor groups in the past, as well as performing in various Music Booster and high school musicals, including last year’s highly successful “Les Miserables”.

The students who will be presenting their work are: Anne Townsend, Dylan Koch, Mary Hughes, Max Miller, Brannon Harbur, Zoe Fulco, Bethany Burnet, Leslie Baughman, Ryley Gardner, Colin Oliver, Kaitlen Richey, Samantha Hunts, Riley Searle, Charisse Morris, Brooke Hampton and Johanna Laverty.

This solo concert will be a fund-raiser for the music department’s various spring trips, and the ticket price per person will be $10. Hors d’oeuvres, desserts and drinks will be served to complement the formal setting of the evening.

This will be a very special event, an opportunity for parents, friends and other supporters of these fine young musicians to hear an example of the quality of music they are capable of presenting.
