San Juan Basin Health Department in Pagosa Springs announces its senior and general public flu clinics.
The first will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at the San Juan Basin Health Department, 502 S. 8th St., from 3 to 5 p.m. This is open to all ages.
Seniors can also get their flu shot on Wednesday, Oct. 5, from 10:30 a.m.-noon at the Silver Fox Den Senior Center at 451 Hot Springs Blvd. This is for seniors only.
On Thursday, Oct. 20, residents ages 19 and older can get a flu shot near Arboles at the Catholic Church on Colo. 151.
Beginning Oct. 12, there will be walk-in flu clinics every Wednesday from 8 to 10 a.m. at San Juan Basin Health’s Pagosa office. This opportunity will continue through Dec. 1.
Flu shots are free for seniors with Medicare, Part B insurance. Otherwise, an adult flu shot costs $25 and FluMist is $40. The high dose flu shot is available for individuals age 65 and older. Flu shots and FluMist for children up to age 19 will cost just $14.70, thanks to the Vaccines for Children program. Individuals with CHP+ or Medicare need to bring their insurance cards with them.
