Charity was born in Durango, Colo., in 1959. She grew up in Pagosa Springs, and spent much of her time helping out with the family ranch.
In high school, Charity was on the ski team for the Pagosa Pirates and graduated as a member of the Class of 1977. During her high school years, she was also the Mounted Rangers Queen.
In 1987, Charity graduated From Adams State College with her B.A, following the birth of her two daughters. In 1989, she moved back to Pagosa Springs to raise her children. She loved the beauty of the San Juan Mountains, and felt most at home near them. She was a talented artist and writer, and she loved poetry. Charity was dedicated to her spiritual growth and her Walk with God.
Her family invites you to join them in a Celebration of Life Ceremony. It will be held Friday, Sept. 23, at 5:30 p.m. Services will be held up Snowball Road, 1.1 miles past the gate. Services will be casual, and friends and family are encouraged to dress warm. We will be having a potluck supper and all are welcome to participate.
Charity was preceded in death by her grandparents, Toots and Ida Lattin, and Reta and Magnus Gonnsen. Her parents, Herbert Nick Lattin and Faith Elaine Lattin of Edmonton, Ky. Brother Herbert Roan Lattin, of Edmonton, Ky. And her grandson, Isaac Jose Tobias, of Dumas, Texas.
She leaves behind her aunt and uncle Raymond and Doris Lattin of Pagosa Springs; sisters Ramona Hope Lattin-Snow, Rachael Leigh Lattin-Snow, and Reta “Frosty” Lattin-Garrett; daughters Cimarrona Faith Lattin-Kelley and Sierra Elizabeth Lattin-Tobias; grandchildren Charlie Noel Kelley, Jacob Alejandro Tobias and Josue Angel Ramon Tobias.
