32nd annual Write for His Glory Conference

The Southwest Christian Writers Association announces its 32nd annual Write for His Glory Conference.

The theme this year is “Turning Glitches into Glory.”

The conference will take place Sept. 9-10 2 at the Hesperus Baptist Camp and Conference Center, 22265 Colo. 140, 1.2 Miles south of Hesperus, Colo.

The keynote speaker is Jim Watkins, from Indiana. Watkins writes columns for regional newspapers using humor as a tool to comment on national events.

His two most recent books are “Writing with Banana Peels: Principles, Practices, and Pratfalls of Writing Humor,” and “Squeezing Good Out of Bad.”

Other speakers include Adam Colwell, president of Adam Colwell’s Write Works LLC in Tucson, Ariz.; local author Linda Harris, co-author of “Stained Glass Windows in the Dark,” a mystery/romance novel set in Mexico, and a children’s book “Texas Elves;” and local author Dr. Joe Bowden, contributor to “Out of the Overflow,” “Entertainment Guide for the Godly Business Woman,” and “Women on the Move Cookbook.”

Cost is $100. Hours are Friday 1-9 p.m. and Saturday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
