Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Colorado would like to thank Dave and Sam Cordray of Saddle Up Outfitters for providing horseback rides for our program participants this summer. They offered two rides, one in July and the second one was the first week of August. Dave generously offered to give us horseback rides entirely at his expense, and he spent days working and preparing the trail to make sure our ride was safe and amazing, which it was. Thank you to Roz Wu at the Forest Service for coming along and allowing the ride to take place. This community is very good about supporting service organizations. Thank you Dave, Sam and Roz for donating your time to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Colorado.
Thank you, Pagosa Springs Women’s Club for your donation to Archuleta County Senior Services. Your donation will assist in keeping Archuleta County’s aging population active and independent. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. On behalf of my people, thank you.
I would like to express my sincere thanks to all who are helping make our efforts for the 9/11 Memorial fund-raiser a success. PFD and the Fire Auxiliary are trying our best to show the appreciation of our community to the many first responders of 9/11 which, of course, includes our fallen brother firefighters. It is not the horrors of 9/11 we choose to remember on the upcoming 10th anniversary, rather, it is our brothers and the many others who died that day that we choose “never to forget.” We thank all who are helping us complete that mission.
Thanks to all of the following for donating items for our silent auction which will be held during our fund-raising cocktail party at the Pagosa Golf Club on the 18th. My family, Larkin and I’d like to thank so many people for all of the support, thoughts prayers and blessings we have received over the last few weeks. There is no way my recovery would have been as quick or successful without you. Thanks to my mom, dad, sister and cousins, the entire staff of Mercy Regional Medical Center, in particular the nurses at the ICU, TCU and General Hospital floors, as well as Dr. Hallin, Dr. Weiss and Dr. Roach for the excellent care and endless patience. Special thanks to Larkin for being a great new daddy and partner, as well as for the countless hours bedside, as well as nighttime feedings and diaper changes. Both Paloma and I are so blessed for each of you in our lives and are healing quickly and well.
With love and countless blessings,
Keely Whittington and the entire Whittington and DeYapp families
We all know how anticipation of an upcoming event is your whole life as the time approaches. I think our volunteers are the most important part of any equation. So many events rely on your help. For a small town I would guess over 30-40 percent help out somewhere on something that is their passion. The fair has been my passion for four years and now I must move on to form another. I can’t begin to thank all of you that helped us this year for the first time, and those that have helped me from year to year. I know you will help the next Volunteer Coordinator, maybe your neighbor or best friend or maybe one of you will continue this vital position. It cannot be done without you.
I would like to challenge each of you to put something in the fair next year. I know I am planning to. We need to help our children to cherish traditions.
Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Archuleta Veterans helping Veterans would like to thank all who participated in the project. It was a great day for all. We would like to assure the public that has supported our projects that all proceeds will go to helping our veterans.
