Back to School Project — lend a hand

It’s that time of year again — time for parents and kids to think about school schedules, clothes and supplies.

There are kids in our community who need help getting their school supplies.

Will you be able to help?

Below is the list of items needed. Please purchase the items and leave at the Community United Methodist Church or the collections barrels at the Alco or Family Dollar stores. Of course, if you prefer not to do the shopping, we will need money to purchase the items not donated. Checks can be made out to CUMC with a note in the memo line for “school supplies.”

Distribution will be at the Catholic Parish Hall on Lewis Street on Tuesday, Aug. 23. We are asking that parents bring their children between noon and 5:30 p.m. Parents will need to sign up at the Department of Human Services by Aug. 19.

Every little bit you can do will be much appreciated by the children and teachers of Archuleta County School District 50 Jt.

We will need volunteers on Monday and Tuesday (Aug. 22-23) to help set up and assist the children in the “shopping.” If you would like to help with this project, contact: Dennis Schick, 731-0940 or; Robin Ball, 731-3005 or; Cory Dysinger, 264-5508 or
