Kyle Lucas, age 47, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011, in Reno, Nev., due to complications from surgery. His profession for the past seven years was a cross country truck driver for CR England Trucking Lines.
Kyle was born in Harlingen, Texas, and attended school in Durango, Colo., after his parents moved there in 1977.
Kyle loved Pagosa Springs and had owned property here, which was always his desire to purchase back some day. His ashes were scattered as the eagles flew and the elk and deer, he loved so much, wandered.
He is survived first by his beloved companion, friend and buddy “Fred,” his 15-year-old Chow; by his father, Raymond Lucas, and stepmother Verna Lucas, both of Pagosa Springs; his mother Nancy B. Lucas of Santa Barbara, Calif., sister Jeanene Lucas Pierce, her husband Kent Pierce and his nephews, Lucas and Matthew Pierce of Santa Barbara, Calif.; his stepbrother Chad Milby and wife Danielle Velarde Milby formerly of Pagosa Springs, now living in Temecula, Calif., and his nieces, Madeline and Meredith Milby. His Uncle Larry Lucas, Aunt Nancy Lucas and cousins Kimberly and Kristina Lucas who reside in Dallas, Texas.
