Still time to volunteer at Archuleta County Fair

We have the best volunteers in the country.

Come and join this fun-loving group of community supports and be a volunteer at the Archuleta County Fair.

The tradition of our county fair goes back 60 years. We need people like you to make it happen.

This year we have lots of new and fun activities for the community to enjoy.

To become part of this wonderful tradition, call the Extension Office at 264-2388 or Mona at 731-2891.

Come and get it!

Get your tickets now for the annual 4-H Chuckwagon Dinner, Aug. 6 at the Archuleta County Fair.

The planned menu includes: barbecue beef, sausage, cowboy beans, potato salad, mixed salad, bread and cobbler. All that and a drink for $10 for ages 13 and up and $5 for ages 12 and under.

Tickets can be purchased from any 4-H member, at the Extension Office and the Activity Tent that Saturday night at the fair.

So, come out 4-6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6, for an excellent meal and stay for the excitement of the 4-H Livestock Auction starting at 6:30. Everyone is invited to participate in this year’s auction as a buyer or add-on by registering at the livestock tent before or during the auction. Livestock animals can also be “split” for purchasing, so you and your family or friends can get together and purchase some top-quality meat.

Check out the events and activities at this year’s Archuleta County Fair: Parelli Natural Horsemanship Exhibition; open skateboarding; horse show; Texaco Country Showdown; live music by The High Rollers, and Bixby; boxing match; horseshoes, quick draw shooting; Chuck Wagon Dinner; Ranch Rodeo; skateboarding competition; bubble tower; animal shows; Wildman Phil, escape artist; Home Brew Contest; chile cookoff; free pancakes; locally grown grains and flowers; painting, crafts and quilts; homemade baked items; Christmas trees; 4-H projects; Junior Livestock Auction, and much more.
