National Art Show this week — free to the community

Don’t miss the Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters (RMPAP) 10th Anniversary Show, this week in Pagosa Springs.

This is the largest plein air event held in the Rocky Mountain region, featuring 42 nationally-recognized artists painting in Pagosa Springs.

“We are thrilled to have these amazing artists painting in and around our beautiful town,” said Madeline Lyon, Wild Spirit Gallery owner and event host. “

All events are free to the public, so we’re expecting a wonderful turnout.”

Quick Draw

One of the most exciting events of the week — Quick Draw — will take place on Saturday, Aug. 6, 9-11 a.m.  Come watch artists paint, from Town Park to Centennial Park, along the river, and around the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center lawn area.

You can bid on the resulting works at Wild Spirit Gallery beginning at noon.

This event will be fun for the spectators, and great for our students, since 5 percent of all sales at the Quick Draw will be donated to FAMA, the Fine Art Magnet Academy at Pagosa Springs High School.
