Santa Fe impressionist painter to show work at Art in the Garden

Art in the Garden 2011 is pleased to show the work of impressionist painter Madina Croce.

This is Madina’s first time to participate in the festival and she is, “happy to be part of Art in the Garden, and looking forward to meeting everyone. I think it will be fun.”

Madina, who signs her paintings, DINI, is a lifelong Santa Fe, N.M., resident. Her work is shown in the prestigious Gallery Collection at La Posada Hotel and Spa in Santa Fe, at The Depot Gallery in Ennis, Mont., and in her own gallery Madina Croce Fine Art Studio in Santa Fe.

Madina is an exciting artist who paints her impressionistic floral oils using a palette knife more often than a brush. This creates a dance of thick, brilliant colors that vibrate off her canvas.

DINI is particularly known for her bold, energetic and vibrant flower paintings . She also loves to paint waterscapes and the local landscape en plein air, everything luminously displayed in her signature style.

Madina says, “I am inspired by the natural world, and backlighting in particular intrigues me. I go everywhere I can get to with my easel, chasing the beautiful light. My work as a painter feeds my soul and I am humbled to be able to share it with the world.”

You are invited to join Madina, and 17 other artists, who will be showing and selling their work, and demonstrating their techniques, at Art in the Garden 2011 on Saturday, Aug. 20, from 3 to 7 p.m. Thirty percent of all art sales will go to charity to aid the poor, needy and elderly in Archuleta County.

This year’s event will be held at the home and gardens of Flo and Pac Pacharzina in Chris Mountain Ranches which is approximately a mile and a half west of North Pagosa Boulevard., between mile markers 137 and 138. Turn north into the gated entrance and follow the signs to the event site.

The theme for this year’s event is “Memories of the Old West.” In addition to the artists, there will be eight different sets of musicians performing at half-hour intervals, gourmet food, cash bars featuring fine wine and beer, a quilt display and demonstration featuring renowned quilter Cindy Hamilton, and a guided tour of the Pacharzina home filled with beautiful, heirloom antiques.

Tickets are on sale at Pagosa Springs Area Chamber of Commerce, Nello’s Bistro, and online at
