Shamrock Festival tickets going on sale

Tickets for this year’s Shamrock Festival dinner and dance, sponsored by St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, go on sale Sunday, July 10.

The cost of tickets is twenty dollars and will include dinner on Saturday, Aug. 13, catered by The Plaza Grille and dancing with Leadfoot Ruthie. There will also be a cash bar for liquid refreshments. Festivities for the evening begin at 4:30 p.m. with cocktails and silent auction.

The Shamrock Festival is an annual event at St. Patrick’s that provides not only fun for all who attend, but important funding for local non-profits. All the proceeds from the event go towards community outreach, with funding going to non-profits such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Pregnancy Center, Seeds of Learning, Hospice of Mercy, Loaves and Fishes, Archuleta County Victims Assistance, and the Pagosa Outreach Connection.

This year, on Friday, Aug. 13, additional tickets will be on sale to enjoy a reading of a one-act play by board members of Music Boosters. The proceeds will go to assist this local non-profit arts organization that provides additional funding to local school arts programs and scholarships for graduating seniors majoring in performing arts. This evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will include a wine and beer cash bar along with delectable deserts, silent auction preview, and the play reading. Tickets for the Friday evening event will be $15 and on sale in the church office.

On Saturday, Aug. 13, the day will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a huge garage sale, filled with wonderful gently used items. At the same time, the Book Nook, the church’s resale book store, will be selling recycled books, videos, and audio CD’s and tapes for almost giveaway prices. That afternoon the huge tent will be transformed into a delightful dinner venue for the evening events. The quilt raffle will take place at the dinner, and will determine the winner of the gorgeous Pagosa Peak quilt handmade by quilters at St. Patrick’s. Tickets for the raffle are on sale now for $1 each or 12 tickets for $10.
