Grace Church would like to offer an enthusiastic thank you to so many who made the Alabama Tornado Relief fund-raising and concert such a wonderful success. We are inspired by the community’s response and are so grateful that we have been able to send a team of skilled and unskilled workers to help with the clean-up and rebuilding of the rural town of Shoal Creek Valley, Ala. Shoal Creek Valley suffered tremendous loss of lives and housing during the tornadoes of April 27, 2011, and thanks to the generous donations of our community members and the following businesses we have sent a team of 28 adults and children down to Alabama from June 20-29. Again, our heartfelt thanks go to Dan Appenzeller and FolkWest, The Springs Resort and Spa, Pagosa Outside, Goodman’s Department Store, Higher Grounds Cafe, Eagle Mountain Mercantile, Summit Sports, Down to Earth, Liberty Theatre, Cynda Green, Shizuku Jewelry, Koru Design and Build, Main Street Antiques and KWUF.
Angel Eyes (formerly Colorado SIDS) would like to express wholehearted thanks to Tony Simmons of Pagosa Brewing Company and all his staff for co-hosting and helping with this year’s very successful event, supported by St. Patrick’s Church. Also, our thanks go out to Doug Humble and Jim Cary for piloting the lobsters, tails and steaks from Denver to Pagosa the morning of Saturday, June 18. This was our sixth annual Pagosa Angel Eyes event, and our 30th year of putting this dinner on, for which we were able to “transfer” our participation from Denver; this year was our most successful ever! Thanks to everyone who participated by bringing side dishes and who helped cook; you all helped make it a very successful and memorable event. Ken and Dinah Rogers.
Pagosa Springs EMS would like to thank everyone for making our EMS Awards Banquet 2011, in honor of National EMS Week, a success. A very special thank you goes to Eugene and Sandra Pettis, Pagosa Pub Works for their hospitality and DJ Bobby Hart. Also, to Plaza Grille, The Buck Stops Here, Ramon’s Restaurant, Shang Hai, Higher Grounds, Conoco West, Big O Tires, Cafe Colorado, The Springs Resort, Goodman’s Department Store, The Outfitter, Queen Bee, Pagosa Outside, Old Town Market and Chavolo’s for their generous donations to our local EMTs. We are proud to be serving the community of Pagosa Springs.
Our thanks go to Treasures of the Rockies for their contribution to our horseshoe tournament fund-raiser for Relay for Life.
Seeds of Learning would like to thank Shear Talk for hosting the “Kids Cuts” fund-raiser. Being a nonprofit organization, we truly appreciate the support from our community. Thank you, Ronnie, Savannah, Tanya and Silvia, for donating your time and giving hair cuts. A big thank you to Ronnie, the owner, for helping organize the fund-raiser; we are hoping to make this an annual event. See you next year — summer of 2012.
