It is time to sign up for the second annual choral workshop that will take place July 15, 16 and 17 at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church.
St. Patrick’s is delighted to bring back choral clinician Peter Schindler, who will not only instruct participants in proper singing techniques, but will direct them in singing excepts from Antonio Vivaldi’s “Gloria.” This baroque choral masterpiece is not only fun to sing, but provides wonderful teaching opportunities. The workshop will culminate Sunday evening, July 17, with a festival performance at St. Patrick’s Sunday Night Unplugged.
Those who attended last year’s workshop will attest to the fact that Schindler brings a delightful approach to singing that is understandable and not difficult to learn. Singers will enjoy making music with people from our area who enjoy being challenged and are interested in improving their own singing skills. Schindler has done intensive study of the human voice, not only from a choral perspective, but from a physiological perspective. He understands and is able to logically convey to singers how the voice works and how to produce a lovely sound without straining.
Music and CDs will be available to singers prior to the workshop so that they can study the music in advance. The cost is only $25. For more information, contact Sally Neel at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the church office at 731-5801.
