St. Patrick’s to hold choral workshop

St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church has announced the second annual choral workshop with the return of guest conductor, Peter Schindler.

This year’s workshop will focus on the baroque era music of composer, Antonio Vivaldi. Participants will study movements from Vivaldi’s famous choral work, “Gloria.” Participants will receive a CD of the recorded music as well as copies of the music to study in order to become acquainted with the work prior to the workshop. The workshop will conclude with a performance of the choir at St. Patrick’s Sunday Night Unplugged on July 17.

Peter Schindler, director of music at Church of the Annunciation in Lewisville, Texas, is a master vocal technician who is able to translate his knowledge into very usable and understandable lessons for his students, helping them produce sounds they never realized they had.

Participants are not required to audition and the cost is only $25.

Not only will singers learn beautiful music, they will acquire new skills they can develop and use for years to come.

To enroll in this extraordinary singing opportunity, call St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, 731-5801, or e-mail Sally Neel
