The Pagosa Springs Recreation Department is accepting registrations for this year’s adult men’s and coed softball leagues until 5 p.m. tomorrow.
Registration forms are available at the department office, which is located upstairs in Town Hall. Anyone who is 16 years of age or older is eligible to participate in the leagues. Team registration fees are $250, plus a $30 fee per player. Checks and money orders should be made payable to the Town of Pagosa Springs.
The leagues are tentatively scheduled to begin in mid-June. For more information, call 264-4151, Ext. 231 or 232.
As part of its continuing anti-litter campaign, the town is inviting local youngsters over the age of 10 to enter this year’s anti-litter slogan contest.
One of the town’s current anti-litter slogans is “Pick-up Pagosa Country,” but the town is interested in hearing from youths who can offer creative alternatives.
Submissions, which should include the name and phone number of the entrant, can be dropped off at the front desk in Town Hall until 5 p.m. June 3. Submissions can also be mailed to: Slogan Contest, Town Hall, P.O. Box 1859, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147, or e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
A prize will be awarded for the winning entry, and the slogan may appear on future anti-litter signs throughout the community. For more information, call 264-4151, Ext. 232.
