On Saturday, June 4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church will present guest speaker The Rev. Sarah Berlin, who will lead a workshop on “The Simplicity of the Spiritual Life.”
Sarah Berlin is an Episcopal priest, spiritual director, and retreat leader who for many years directed the Referral Service for Seniors at St. John’s Episcopal Cathedral in Denver. She also worked as a hospice chaplain for The Denver Hospice where she facilitated bereavement groups.
Her most recent book, “Contemplative Compassion: Creating a Culture of Care in Faith Communities,” is a guide for groups and individuals to gain practical caring skills along with spiritual renewal.
Her book will serve as the basis for spiritual direction study groups that will meet at the church throughout the summer.
“I am very excited to have her come to speak to us,” says Fr. Doug Neel, rector of St. Patrick’s. “Sarah has a reputation in our diocese for leading very powerful and meaningful workshops. It is a great privilege to have her with us, and I feel confident that all who attend will leave renewed and inspired.”
The cost of the workshop is $10. The study book is also available for purchase in the church office for $12. The public is encouraged to attend. You can register to attend at St. Patrick’s church office, located at 225 S. Pagosa Blvd.
