Writing for Generations is a writers’ support group that has begun its second year of meeting in Pagosa Springs.
This month’s meeting will be on Wednesday, May 11, at 1 p.m. at the Senior Center rather than the regular May 4 date. The group is not just for seniors. People of all ages are encouraged to attend.
This will be an important meeting to work on expanding the Writing for Generations Google Group. Invitations will soon be going out to join the Google Group and if you want to be part of it, you can attend the May meeting or call Jodi at the Senior Center with your e-mail address and information about who you are. The use of the website is limited to “approved people.”
I want to give a special thank you to Tessa Michaelson-Schmidt at the library for her help. She is an amazing gift to this community.
Writing for Generations is not a writing class because the most important thing about writing is not to spend lots of time “learning how to write,” but to simply start writing and amazing improvement will come with experience and practice. If you have been traumatized about writing in your past, it is time to break free and become a happy writer and participant. The Google Group will increase everyone’s opportunity to share their writing in a more anonymous and convenient way.
Each person has his own unique perspective on life that needs to be expressed and shared. Who will better appreciate our thoughts and ideas than our very own grandchildren and other future generations? We have no idea what gifts we can give to the future. That is what writing for generations is all about and you are invited to join us for a positive and supportive experience.
