‘An Evening in Italy,’ Chocolate Auction and Chamber SunDowner

Got chocolate?

The Humane Society of Pagosa Springs sure does!

The annual Chocolate Auction and Chamber SunDowner will be held on Wednesday, April 27, at the Pagosa Springs Youth Center, which will only be accessible through the Humane Society Thrift Store.

This year the theme will be “An Evening in Italy”, and the Youth Center will be transformed into an Italian setting complete with Italian “scenery.” This popular adult event will begin at 5 p.m .with drinks and socializing, followed by a delicious spaghetti supper served from 5:30 to 6:30. The Chocolate Auction itself will begin at 6:30.

The Humane Society is well known for its dedication to serving event guests an excellent meal, and

“An Evening in Italy” will be no exception. Absolutely incredible chocolate desserts, some truly works of art, will be donated by local caterers, bakers, candy stores, chefs, and restaurants and will be auctioned off to raise funds to help offset the daily operating costs of the Humane Society shelter. The shelter houses and finds homes for the homeless, lost, and abandoned dogs and cats of Archuleta County which is truly a benefit for all county residents. The Chocolate Auction is a wonderful way to have a fun-filled evening and give support to the animals through the successful bidding on rich and decadent chocolate desserts.

The Chocolate Auction is the Chamber of Commerce’s April SunDowner and is for Chamber members and invited guests. To be added to the guest list, contact the Humane Society Administration Office at 264-5549. It is requested that only adults attend, as alcoholic beverages will be served.

As always, the Chamber will collect a $5 entrance fee to offset their costs for beverages during the evening, and the Humane Society will provide the Italian dinner buffet.
