The Mountain View Homemakers will meet Thursday, April 14, at the Extension Building at the fairgrounds.
The room will be decorated for Easter; members and guests are invited to have fun by wearing an Easter bonnet. Prizes will be given for those hats voted the Most Flowery, the Prettiest, Most Unusual” and “Funniest.”
Every woman in the area is invited to arrive about 11:30 a.m. to visit and set up for the covered dish lunch, which will begin exactly at noon. Visitors are not expected to bring a dish but are invited to come and enjoy the lunch, the fun of the Easter bonnet contest, and a wonderful program. Mary Jo Coulehan will provide information about our local Chamber of Commerce, after Tina Gallegos gives a brief update about Hospice.
The Homemakers organization is a monthly gathering of women who are interested in making the lives of their families and their community more livable. The meetings include lunch and either enlightening speakers or a hands-on community project. One auction fund-raiser every summer results in contributions to a number of local non-profit efforts. There are no dues or membership requirements and every interested woman automatically becomes a member when she attends a second time.
