Register for baseball through April 29

Registration for this year’s youth baseball leagues begins Monday and will run through Friday, April 29.

The recreation office will accept registrations for coach-pitch division (ages 6, 7 and 8), and the 9- and 10-year-old division. The office will also accept registrations for the 11-12 division, but if the number of registrations submitted is not sufficient to support a league in this age bracket, registration fees may be refunded and formal league play may be canceled.

Registrations will be available at the recreation office in Town Hall and will also be available for download through the recreation department link at Registrations will be disbursed to local schools, as well. All registrations should be submitted to the recreation office.

Cost to participate in the program is $30 per player and $15 for each additional child in the same family who participates. Team coaches and sponsors are needed and appreciated.

The season is tentatively scheduled to begin in late May and should run through early July; for more information, call the recreation office at 264-4151, Ext. 231 or 232.

Registration for this year’s tee-ball season has closed and those who registered will now be sorted into teams.

Whenever feasible, the recreation department will do its best to ensure parents’ requests to have their youngsters placed with a particular coach or player are honored; however, parents are reminded that not all requests can be guaranteed.

As soon as teams are finalized, coaches will be contacted with roster information. Games are tentatively scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays and will be played outside, weather permitting. Games will not begin until the week of April 25. The season will end in late May.

Lost and found

Over the past few months, recreation department and community center staff members have collected numerous clothing items, water bottles and basketballs from the gym and locker rooms. These items have been placed in the “lost and found” bin in the community center office.

If you or your child has lost an item recently, it may be worthwhile to check with community center staff to see if your item has been placed in the lost and found bin.
