New art world
The Arts Council has a clear view of what our future may hold as we work together as one.
As an ongoing organization we’ve been here since 1988 and our new view for the future is, What if we brought the world to Pagosa and Pagosa to the world?
How would our artists feel if pieces of their art would sell all over the world and if artists from all over world would show in Pagosa Springs Arts Council exhibits?
As we embrace a new art world for the future of Pagosa, your comments and suggestions for achieving this ideal are welcome. The PSAC board meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month and offers an open forum for all ideas. Call PSAC at 264-5020 with your creative thoughts to help us develop this forum for the April 26 board meeting.
Youth art classes
We are offering spring/summer Youth Art Classes, open to the public and especially to home-schooled students who are in need of art in their curriculum.
For more information call Estudio Y Galeria at 264-1007.
Art in the Garden
We would like to welcome Art in the Garden as new members of the Arts Council and assist them in advertising this summer’s fourth annual Art in the Garden Show to be held Saturday, Aug. 20, from 3 to 7 p.m.
The location will be 323 Colorado Place, the site of Chris Mountain Ranches in Pagosa Springs.
The Art in the Garden Festival is a major event for those who enjoy fine art, quality entertainment, gourmet food and wine. The event began in 2008 as a means to raise money to be used for charitable purposes within the community. It is a one-day juried outdoor show of fine art that welcomes applications from artists producing original work in several media. Originality of concept, execution, quality of workmanship and design excellence are the primary criteria used during the evaluation process.
The application deadline is noon, Wednesday, April 13. For submissions or to request further information, contact Art in the Garden Festival at email@example.com, P.O. Box Pagosa Springs, CO 81147. Information and a brochure are available at www.PagosaArtintheGarden.com.
