The regular meeting of Writing For Generations will be Wednesday, April 6, at 1 p.m. at the Senior Center.
In February we had a special meeting with John Motter as guest speaker. John, who many consider the greatest example in Pagosa Springs of Writing For Generations, inspired everyone. He told many fascinating stories about Pagosa’s early history.
John also made several comments that reinforce the basic ideas of our writing support group. If you want to write, the most important thing is to do it. Don’t wait for inspiration or the right words, just start now. If you do, you will be able to share a brief sample of your writing and find answers to any questions you may have at our April 6 meeting.
Many people in the group are encouraging John to do a revision of his book, which is in the library, but no longer available for purchase. Go John!
Besides the appreciation of so many of the people present, we were able to give John a $50 gift certificate from Ace Hardware and a coupon for dining at Nello’s Bistro. We want to thank those businesses for their additional support and appreciation of John.
Thanks also for help from Tessa Michaelson-Schmidt at the library. I am now in the process of creating a Google Group that will be accessible to writers around the world. If you want to be a part of the Google Group, please attend our next meeting.
Writing For Generations is in its second year and is facilitated by Joan Mieritz. People of any age are welcome to join the group.
