The Chimney Rock in the Chacoan World Conference is scheduled for April 29-April 30 at the Pagosa Lodge.
Conference hours are 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. On Sunday, May 1, registrants are invited to tour Chimney Rock Archaeological Area at 10 a.m.
The conference will feature presentations regarding archaeological research at Chimney Rock, archaeoastronomy at Chimney Rock, Chacoan Outliers, settlement patterns within the Northern San Juan Basin, management of the Chimney Rock Archaeological Area and modern Puebloan perspectives on this area. This conference will provide an opportunity for the professional community, site interpreters and interested public to discuss the significance of the site and work towards new ways to improve our stewardship of this fascinating resource.
