The Archuleta County chapter of the Farm Bureau meets the second Tuesday of each month.
This is a new chapter that could really use your support.
In case you are not familiar with the Farm Bureau, this nationwide organization strives to promote and protect ranching and farming as a viable way of life at the federal, state and local level. They do this by helping to promulgate legislation that supports ranchers and farmers, by providing education opportunities on good agricultural practices, by offering affordable insurance products for agricultural operations and by giving college scholarships to the children of ranchers and farmers.
You do not have to be a rancher or farmer to join this organization. You just need to care about preserving this way of life. America is one of the few countries in the world that can feed itself. This is an invaluable resource and must be protected.
Contact Doris Lattin at 264-5606 for membership information or just join us at our next meeting on April 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the county Extension Building.
Archuleta County’s farmers and ranchers need your help.
