The Archuleta County Board of County Commissioners will host the first public meeting of 2011 on Tuesday, March 29, at 6 p.m., in the Ross Aragon Community Center.
Three times a year, in the months which have five Tuesdays, the commissioners traditionally host a public meeting to supplement their regular meeting schedule. The community is encouraged to attend these informational sessions.
The March 29 meeting will feature conversation and public input regarding the Bottom-Up Economic Development Plan Initiative sponsored by Gov. Hickenlooper. The Governor’s Office and the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade has partnered with Colorado State University’s Office of Engagement and Extension to engage Coloradans in a statewide conversation about Economic Development.?Governor Hickenlooper is asking residents across the state, county by county, to share their stories, challenges and strengths by developing a strategic economic development plan for their county.
Also at the meeting, the BoCC will make a presentation detailing the background to Ballot Measure 1A and where funds have been spent. The BoCC will invite comment on whether 1A should be continued and placed on the ballot this fall.
In May, the community meeting will be held in Chromo and in August the meeting will be in Arboles.
