Pagosans support Something Different

As predicted, Pagosa businesses, residents and artisans have generously stepped up to support the Something Different event on April 2.

From providing world-class entertainment to donating fabulous auction items, Pagosans are, once again, demonstrating their commitment to our town.

“It never ceases to amaze me how supportive our town can be,” said Madeline Lyon, Wild Spirit Gallery owner. “Pagosans are known for coming together when needed. This is just another example of that.”

Something Different is a fabulous fund-raising event that will support the Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters organization’s (RMPAP) 10th anniversary National Show being held here this summer. An estimated 50 RMPAP artists will travel to Pagosa Springs, paint all-new, never-before-seen paintings “en plein aire,” then submit up to six pieces for the show, Aug. 5-7. It’s an event that is sure to bring recognition, tourists and new business to Pagosa Springs.

Something Different guests will be entertained by international stars Victoria Liljenquist and Joseph Portal, while dining on delicious cuisine. Plus they’ll have many chances to win amazing items, such as an Artist Package with a variety of original pieces; a Weekend in Pagosa Package with accommodations, dinner, spa treatment, jewelry and more; and a gorgeous Colorado Furnishings Package.

“There are so many great items and packages people can win,” said Lyon. “A lot of people are going to leave very happy that night.”

Even if you can’t attend the event, you can still be eligible to win many of these items. Simply purchase drawing tickets at www.wildspiritgallery.com and we’ll let you know what you win!

Something Different takes place on Saturday, April 2, at 6 p.m. at The Pagosa Lodge. Choices for dinner include prime rib, fish and vegetarian. Tickets are $40 per person and $75 per couple. Tickets, sponsorships and drawing tickets can be purchased at Wild Spirit Gallery, online at www.wildspiritgallery.com, and at the Chamber of Commerce.

Something Different is an important step in bringing new visitors and activities to Pagosa. Thank you for helping us make this event and this summer’s Art Show something special!

Special thanks to Victoria Liljenquist and Joseph Portal, our donors, dedicated volunteers, attendees and to Michael Pierce Photography.
