The stories behind the photos, at Lifelong Learning

“Picture This: The Story Behind the Photograph” is the title of the Lifelong Learning Lecture scheduled for Sunday, March 27, at the Ruby Sisson Library.

Durango photographer Kathy Myrick will share the stories behind her photographs of musicians, mountains, monuments, waterways, and wildflowers in the Four Corners area.

Myrick, who is also executive director of the San Juan Symphony, has explored many back roads as well as often–photographed national parks, and finds the adventures, especially before sunrise and above 12,000 feet, as interesting as the images.

Lifelong Learning Lectures are free and open to the public. They are held in the Turner Reading Room on Sunday afternoons from 3 to 4:15 p.m. in the Ruby Sisson Library, located on the corner of U.S. 160 and 8th Street. The doors will open at 2:45, so please arrive promptly.

Also note that the library is closed during the lectures.
