The Pagosa Springs Community Choir, after two rehearsals, has a pretty good idea where our road trip around the USA is taking us.
We’ll be visiting the west and the east coasts, the “Big Apple,” the deep south and the great Southwest.
For our travels, we’ll be singing selections such as “Hooray for Hollywood,” “Theme from New York, New York,” “Mississippi Mud,” “Oklahoma” and the highlight of the evening, “The Yellow Rose of Texas.” Okay, so the writer is a transplanted Texan and gets a little too excited, but it’s a cool tune.
In addition to our travels, we’ll sing a salute to our beautiful country in “Armed Forces, The Pride of America!” and “An American Tribute.”
So, you can go around the world in 80 days, and spend lots of money, or you can see the USA in one evening for free! And, by the way, if you still haven’t joined the choir, you can still do it next Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the high school band room.
The concerts will be May 12, 13 and 14, at 7 p.m., at the high school auditorium.
