Simplicity Circle meets Saturday

The Southwest Organization for Sustainability (SOS) will host its second gathering of the newly -formed Simplicity Circle, Saturday, Feb. 26, at 10 a.m. The meeting will take place at Moonlight Books, in downtown Pagosa Springs.

The simplicity movement began decades ago, but the need for living more simply is just as important today.

All are welcome to join others in the community to explore areas of your life such as material possessions, money, time and relationships. This group is for those who seek a more fulfilling and slower pace of life. We gather to support each other as we consider what simplicity means to us as individuals, and what we can do to create a more “simplicity-friendly” society.

SOS was founded in 2006 to support environmentally-sustainable practices in Archuleta County.

Other SOS events and projects have included the Pagosa Farmers Market, which runs July through September; an Earth Day celebration, with this year’s waste-free event being held Saturday, April 16, along with an E-waste collection. The group hosts films and lectures on environmental issues, and continues to work with town and county officials on recycling and waste programs.
