Food, dancing, gambling, auctions and more at Casino Night, Saturday

The 11th annual Rotary Casino Night Mardi Gras Ball and fund-raiser will dazzle you with New Orleans’ finest food, dancing, Bourbon Street music and floats, along with O’Brian’s bar featuring their world famous Hurricane this Saturday, Feb. 26, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the new Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts on Put Hill.

Be a winner. Come enjoy the jazz and festivities for a dazzling evening filled with exciting entertainment, gambling and prizes. Play your chips at the hottest craps and blackjack tables in town, and don’t forget to try your hand at their Texas Hold’em tables for more fun. There will also be a silent and live auction throughout the evening.

A diverse crowd is expected. So, come dressed for a Mardi Gras Ball. Use your imagination. Bring your beads, masks, boas, sequins and tuxes (if you have one), and put on your Mardi Gras best. If costumes are not your passion, come as a wandering Pagosan looking for excitement.

There will be both a silent and a live auction. In addition, Mardi Gras “funny money” winnings may be used for tickets in a drawing for special items. As a finale to the ticket drawing, some lucky player will receive a spectacular grand prize.

Everyone wins at Casino Night by having a great time and contributing to worthy projects. The biggest winner, of course, is the community. Behind all the fun and games, this is a very serious effort by Rotarians to raise substantial amounts of money for local endeavors. Over the past 11 years these funds have supported local projects including Special Olympics, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, the 9 Health Fair, Pagosa Outreach, the Fourth of July Parade and many others. A major beneficiary this year will be the Rotary College Scholarship Fund. Over the years, the scholarship fund has awarded $268,000 in scholarships to 120 Pagosa Springs High School graduates.

Tickets are $35 each and can be purchased from any Rotarian, at The Pagosa Springs SUN and Exit Realty, or call Kim Moore, 946-5619.

The Rotary Casino Night is a great way to support your community and let the good times roll! See you there.
