Writing For Generations is a writers’ support group that is in its second year of meeting in Pagosa Springs.
This is not a writing class because we don’t need to “learn to write,” we just need to write.
For most of us, “learning to write” and the teacher’s red markings were counter-productive for becoming a good writer. If you have been traumatized, it is time to experience something new. Join our group, which is facilitated by Joan Mieritz, and experience the joy of putting words on paper or a computer screen.
And, the more you do it, the better you will become.
Each person has his or her own unique perspective that can be put into words.
Who will better appreciate those words than our grandchildren? That is what Writing For Generations is about. Get those words, thoughts, experiences in writing and everyone benefits — both the writer and the reader. Love is the greatest gift that will come through, but the details are the frosting on the cake.
We usually meet the first Wednesday of each month at the Senior Center. However, please join us on Wednesday, Feb. 16, at 1 p.m. in the Senior Center Dining Room to honor and enjoy the man who regularly and faithfully “writes for generations” in Pagosa Springs — John Motter. I know that he will interest and inspire everyone.
