Archuleta County Victim Assistance Program is pleased to announce its 2011 Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Poster Contest for high school students.
This year’s theme, “Breaking the Cycle of Abuse,” focuses on (but is not limited to) any of the following: making and following a safety plan, getting help, who to go to for help, talking to friends/guidance counselors, gaining strength and finding confidence.
The month of February is designated as National Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month. We are sponsoring this poster contest as a means of raising awareness of teen dating violence. The grand prize winner will receive $50 and two runners up will receive $20 each. Winners will be recognized and prizes awarded at the March 8 Archuleta County School District 50 Joint board meeting at 6 p.m.
