PSHS drama club takes home firsts, seconds at one-act festival

On Saturday, Jan. 15, the Pagosa Springs High School Drama Club hosted a One-Act Theater Festival that included performances by both Pagosa and Centauri High Schools; activities and exercises presented by Jeff Reardon, recent PSHS graduate and current theater student at New York University, and Tim Moore, Director of the new Thingamajig Theatre Company; and awards presented to actors and groups from both schools.

Festival judges included Tim and Jeff, as well as local actress and elementary school teacher Louellen Armbrecht.  Pagosa Springs’ One-Act entry was “The Audition,” by Don Zolidis,  recently performed for the community by our 20 drama club students.

Pagosa won first place rankings for emotion, timing and rhythm, characterization, voice and direction, with a second place in staging.  Pagosa also won first place for Best Ensemble.
