The 11th annual Rotary Casino Night Mardi Gras Ball and fund-raiser will provide gaming, delicious food and libations Saturday, Feb. 26 from 6-10 p.m.
The Pagosa Springs Rotary Club will create a Mardi Gras Ball experience at the new Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts on Put Hill.
You can sip your favorite beverage, consume copious amounts of tasty hors d’oeurves and try your luck and skill at craps, Texas Hold’em, poker and blackjack.
A diverse crowd is expected. So, come dressed for a Mardi Gras Ball. Use your imagination. If costumes are not your passion, come as a wandering Pagosan looking for excitement.
There will be both a silent and a live auction. In addition, Mardi Gras “funny money” winnings may be used for tickets in a drawing for special items. As a finale to the ticket drawing, some lucky player will receive a spectacular grand prize.
Everyone wins at Casino Night by having a great time and contributing to worthy projects. The biggest winner, of course, is the community. Behind all the fun and games, this is a very serious effort by Rotarians to raise substantial amounts of money for local endeavors. Over the past 10 years these funds have supported local projects including Special Olympics, third-grade dictionaries, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, the 9 Health Fair, Pagosa Outreach, the Fourth of July Parade and many others. A major beneficiary this year will be the Rotary College Scholarship Fund. Over the years, the scholarship fund has awarded $268,000 in scholarships to 120 Pagosa Springs High School graduates.
Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at The Pagosa Springs SUN downtown, Exit Realty on Put Hill or from any member of the Pagosa Springs Rotary Club.
The Rotary Casino Night is a great way to support your community and have fun doing it. See you there.
