‘Pagosa Sounds’ a colorful evening of entertainment

The Ross Aragon Community Center is excited to bring the “Pagosa Sounds” concert to the community on Friday, Feb. 4.

It is going to be an exciting evening of colorful entertainers and music. You can pick up tickets at Higher Grounds Coffee and the Ross Aragon Community Center; $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Ages 18 and under are admitted free.

This production is brought to you by Elation Center for the Arts and the Ross Aragón Community Center.

We are still collecting nonperishable food items. Please consider contributing to local families in need.

Free programs

Israeli Dance Class. Wednesday 7-9:30 p.m. Please contact Kim for more information, 946-7285.

Boxing Class. Coach Monte Lane has classes on; Thursday, 3:45-5 p.m., and Friday, 1:45-4 p.m., times are subject to change. You can contact Monte at (936) 524-9557 or the community center at 264-4152.

Small Fries Play Group. This play group is designed for 18 months to 3-year-old toddlers and will be meeting every Wednesday from 10-11:30 a.m. at the center. Other ages are welcome as well. Bring their bikes, scooters, and tricycles to ride. Please plan on supervising your children while at the play group. Call the center for more information, 264-4152.

Scrapbook Club. The group will meet the second Saturday of the month. Kathy Ruth will be your contact person. Please call her for all information, 264-2853. The group does more than just scrapbooking, there is also card making. Please give Kathy a call she would love to hear from you.

Computer Class. Becky Herman is offering an 8-week course. You must contact Becky, 264-2171 to attend class.

Mah Jongg. Tuesday 1-3 p.m. is when you can join in on a game of Mah Jongg. Every Tuesday don’t forget, please call the center for any questions.

Pickleball. Pickleball is a game for all ages. Classes are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 9 -11 a.m. to play. Please contact Sharon Athey, 731-1719, (480) 529-3748 or shathey@yahoo.com and Fran Brown, 884-3184, if you would like to play.

Tai Chi. No experience is necessary; join instructors Dr. Pam Kircher and Anna O’Reilly. Classes are Friday from 11 a.m.-noon. Please wear flat-soled shoes and bring water. Class is open to everyone.

Dance for Health Class. Wednesdays 10-11:30 a.m. The use of yogic awareness, ballet/jazz/modern dance technique adds fun to create a full body workout. Class is geared to the older adult, but we are open to everyone. Wear loose, comfortable clothing; bring a mat and large towel or throw, and let your inner dancer free!

Duplicate Bridge. Every Friday 12-4 p.m. and Tuesday 5:30-10 p.m. Call Stan at 731-2217 or e-mail Stan at sunset1310@aol.com.

The Community Center has the space your are looking for, for those special events — wedding, baptismal, birthday, anniversary, wedding rehearsal dinners, wedding, company meetings, depositions, auctions, cooking classes, nonprofit, personal/individual/private, and all your business needs. We have reasonably priced rooms to meet your event needs. Our rates range from $6 to $72 per hour. Room sizes for 20, 40, 50, 90 or 500 people.

If you have an idea of an activity you would like the community center to sponsor, please call and ask for Michelle. We are always looking for new ideas.
