Senator Bruce Whitehead is the recipient of Colorado Farm Bureau 2010 Pinnacle Award in recognition of his support of the agriculture community during the 2010 legislative session.
The Colorado Farm Bureau Pinnacle Award recognizes those legislators who go above and beyond the call of duty to protect and promote Colorado’s agricultural interests.
This is evident through their sponsorship and co-sponsorship of bills, their leadership in defending and advocating on behalf of Colorado agriculture, their workability with the industry, and their voting record on Farm Bureau priority issues.
Senator Whitehead was presented his award by Colorado Farm Bureau president Don Shawcoft, at the County Leadership Conference for Farm Bureau members from San Juan Basin, La Plata and Archuleta County Farm Bureaus.
“Having served only one session in the Colorado General Assembly, we are very grateful for the willingness he showed to fight on key ag issues,” said Shawcoft. “Coming from a strong water background, his state water knowledge was extremely beneficial. He worked for the Colorado Division of Water Resources for 25 years and was the past executive director for Southwestern Water Conservation District. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for you.”
