The Pagosa Springs High School Drama Club is pleased to announce the production of this year’s one-act play, “The Audition,” by Don Zolidis, a comedy/drama.
The play centers around a new theater teacher who brings the musical “A Chorus Line” to the local high school. Although the hopefuls range from shy to outrageous and can be diva-like to determined, everyone has a chance to step out.
“The Audition” is a funny yet heartbreaking look at the auditioning process and the actors who are brave enough to try.
Our Pagosa cast of 22 has been in rehearsal for three weeks on the production, and looks forward to performing in January. Our rehearsals combine the activities and exercises of our local high school drama club with rehearsals specific to “The Audition” so as to maximize the theater learning experience for our actors, who range from first-timers on stage to veteran performers.
One performance only — Jan. 16, 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium, with our traditional “talk-back” after the show.
Tickets are $5 at the door, and proceeds benefit the school’s theater program. We appreciate, as always, your support of the performing arts in our schools.
