The Pagosa Springs Police Department is participating in two upcoming 2010 High Visibility Impaired Driving Enforcement (HVIDE) campaigns.
Officers will increase patrols for the Thanksgiving enforcement period that runs Nov. 23 through Nov. 29, then again during the Holiday Parties enforcement period running from Dec. 1 through Dec. 13.
National traffic studies confirm that increased patrols provide a “risk of apprehension,” thereby reducing the number of impaired driving traffic crashes.
The Pagosa Springs Police department wants to remind everyone that if they observe a driver they believe to be impaired to contact the Archuleta County Combined Dispatch Center at 264-2131 or dial 911. Together, we can help everyone have a safe and happy holiday season.
