Make a bid, help a local non-profit

If you are unable to attend the Festival of Trees auction Friday, Dec. 3, but would like to bid on a tree, the Ross Aragon Community Center staff will provide bid sheets on all trees entered.

If you are interested, please come to the center on Dec. 2, between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. to place your bid.

Serious bidders only, please — the non-profit organizations depend on it.

All purchases must be paid in full by the following Monday, Dec. 6, 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

Those attending our festive auction Friday, Dec. 3, can look forward to a festive evening, including hors d’oeuvres catered by Alley House, the auctioneer prowess of Jake Montroy, a great evening of socializing, and a cash bar to quench any thirst.

And let’s not forget our main reason for this night’s festivities: our beautifully designed silent auction gifts and the most fabulous Christmas trees in Archuleta County.

You can purchase your tickets at the center for $10 in advance, or $12 at the door.

You can come to the center and watch as the trees go up. The best day to come to the center is Wednesday, when all trees should be ready for show. Please attend, support our local organizations, and make this holiday season the best one yet.

Kids’ play group

Our Children’s Play Group for this season has changed. Danyelle Leentjes and Nadia Werby will lead the Small Fries Play Group that will meet on Wednesdays. The SFPG will begin Dec. 1, and run through April 2011.

This play group is designed for youngsters 18 months to 3 years and will meet every Wednesday from 9:45-11 a.m. at the center. Other ages are welcome as well. We will offer light arts and crafts followed by play in the gym. Bring your bikes, scooters and tricycles to ride. The center will provide other physical fitness games focusing on developing the large motor skills.

Join in all the fun this winter and meet other Pagosa moms and dads and their children in this relaxed atmosphere. Please plan on supervising your children while at the play group.

Call the center for more information, 264-4152.
