Responding to community needs in advance of the holidays, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (Local IBEW 111 26A) of La Plata Electric Association (LPEA), in association with the Archuleta County Joint Utility Association, will host a “Fill the Bucket” food drive, Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010.
LPEA’s “bucket truck,” and additional Joint Utility vehicles, will be parked at City Market, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to collect non-perishable food items (canned goods or boxed/bagged dry goods). Donated food will be taken to the Community United Methodist Church Food Bank.
“We’re very proud that LPEA’s IBEW members are volunteering their time for this important effort,” said Greg Munro, LPEA CEO. “We hope a lot of folks will bring their food donations to help support their neighbors and those less fortunate in our area.”
