San Juan Basin Health Department is making it easy for Archuleta residents to stay healthy this winter.
Individuals of any age are welcome to get their flu shots by just walking into the San Juan Basin Health Department office between 8:30 and 10 a.m. any Tuesday through Friday through mid-December. The office is located at 502 S. 8th St.
San Juan Basin Health is offering flu shots this year for only $14.70. For those who cannot afford this fee, the shot will be free. The department accepts Medicare, CHP+ and Rocky Mountain HMO insurance. Bring your insurance card.
Parents with children (under 19) can call to schedule a flu shot appointment for their children at the regular Monday immunization clinics. The nasal FluMist vaccine is also available.
To help adults and families stay in good health, SJBHD is also offering free adult immunizations. Individuals can get up to date with their tetanus, diphtheria and whooping cough booster or receive their pneumonia shot at the same visit they’re receiving their flu shot.
Note that San Juan Basin Health Department offices will be closed Nov. 25 and 26 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
