Computers: friend or foe?

Fear not your personal computer and find ways to embrace technology and live with its rapid changes this Saturday.

“Computer Savvy: Technology Nuts and Bolts” is the title of the final lecture in this fall’s Lifelong Learning Lecture Series.

Computer consultant Peter Welch will demystify the inner workings of computers and explain the intricacies of the Internet. Drawing on her experiences teaching “Tech Tuesdays,” librarian Tessa Michaelson Schmidt will offer practical tips for using technology safely and successfully.

Note — the “Hold on to Your Memory!” lecture originally scheduled for this date has been cancelled.

Lifelong Learning Lectures are free and open to the public. They are held in the Turner Reading Room from 3 to 4:15 p.m. in the Ruby Sisson Library, located on the corner of U.S. 160 and 8th Street. Please note that the library is closed during the lectures, so arrive promptly. For more information, visit the library online at and click on “News & Events.”
