Another October has passed and along with it, Domestic Violence Awareness Month. We would like to thank Jim Miller and the Town of Pagosa Springs for permitting us to once again adorn downtown with our purple ribbons. Special appreciation goes out our Clothesline Project hosts: the Sisson Library, Archuleta County Courthouse, the Town of Pagosa Springs, and Pagosa Springs High School. Each hosted our 45 decorated shirts representing personal stories, dreams and heartaches of survivors of domestic and dating violence. Thank you to the Archuleta County Commissioners for taking an official position and proclaiming October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. And finally, thank you to The Pagosa Springs SUN for always supporting our articles to further outreach our community about this vital subject. It is our hope that these projects throughout this month and all year long help our community raise their awareness about these issues and that, most importantly, victims know how much they are supported.
