San Juan Shootists receive national recognition

The San Juan Shootists Cowboy Fast Draw club of Pagosa Springs recently received the award for the fastest growing Cowboy Fast Draw Club in the nation.

The award was presented to the club during the Cowboy Fast Draw Association’s annual banquet held during the World Championships in Fallon, Nev. A new Beretta Stampede revolver was also presented along with the award. It is the first time the award has been presented.

The award was accepted on behalf of the club by Dave “Mongo” Miller and Shirley “Wench” Miller of Pagosa Springs.

The Cowboy Fast Draw Association announced the formation of a scholarship foundation at the annual banquet. The San Juan Shootists club members voted to donate the new Beretta revolver back to the foundation to help with initial fund-raising efforts.
